Organization introduction

The Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) was established in 1995 during the 7th educational development plan. On April 11, 2003, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi reorganized the Center of Operation for Field Robotics Development into “Institute of Field Robotics”. FIBO researches, develops, and provides innovations that will benefit the society. The institute specializes in courses and degrees in robotics and automation. This is our history.

สถาบันวิทยาการหุ่นยนต์ภาคสนาม (ฟีโบ้) ก่อตั้งขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2538 ระหว่างแผนพัฒนาการศึกษาฉบับที่ 7 ต่อมาเมื่อวันที่ 11 เมษายน 2546 สภามหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี มีมติยกวิทยฐานะของศูนย์ปฏิบัติการพัฒนาหุ่นยนต์ภาคสนาม เป็น “สถาบันวิทยาการหุ่นยนต์ภาคสนาม” โดยมีหน้าที่วิจัยพัฒนา ให้บริการวิทยาการแก่สังคม เปิดสอนหลักสูตรที่มีความสามารถเฉพาะทางและมอบปริญญาได้ โดยมีรายละเอียดดังนี้

The research department is an important part of the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO). The main role of the research department is to promote research activities, determine the direction, make research plans. Besides, the research department is also responsible for the development of researchers, the publication of researches, and education activities for youth to develop the next generation of researchers.

The research department also has a mission to disseminate research findings in the form of publications at academic conferences, organize exhibitions for showcasing works and offer visitors an opportunity to see the institute’s researches. FIBO offers a research environment at international levels. The facility opens 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to give students the convenience and flexibility to do their researches.

ฝ่ายวิจัยเป็นส่วนที่สำคัญของสถาบันวิทยาการหุ่นยนต์ภาคสนาม หน้าที่หลักของฝ่ายวิจัย คือ ส่งเสริมกิจกรรมด้านงานวิจัย กำหนดทิศทาง จัดทำแผนการดำเนินงานด้านการวิจัย นอกจากนี้ฝ่ายวิจัยยังมีหน้าที่ในการพัฒนาบุคลากรด้านงานวิจัย สนับสนุนการเผยแพร่ผลงานวิจัย ส่งเสริมกิจกรรมด้านการให้ความรู้แก่เยาวชน เพื่อเป็นการสร้างนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ให้เกิดขึ้นในอนาคต

ภารกิจของฝ่ายวิจัยยังรวมถึงการเผยแพร่ผลงานวิจัยในรูปของผลงานตีพิมพ์ในที่ประชุมวิชาการ การแสดงนิทรรศการ และการเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้สนใจเข้าเยี่ยมชมผลงานวิจัยของสถาบันฯ ฟีโบ้จัดบรรยากาศการวิจัยให้เป็นแบบสากล เปิดตลอด 24 ชั่วโมงทุกวัน เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษาได้มีเวลาให้กับงานวิจัยอย่างเต็มที่
