Adding new value to customer’s full manufacturing process

The emergence of new technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and M2M (Machine to Machine) communication has brought about drastic changes to the manufacturing world. Further introduction of such technologies will help manufacturers realize improvements to help optimize the factory, deploy automation, and improve productivity.

Panasonic’s Connected Solutions Company has identified five priority domains: Distribution & Logistics, Entertainment, Public Safety, Aviation, and Manufacturing. The Process Automation Business Division within the Manufacturing domain will design and deliver new solutions to manufacturing customers. We will serve other industries by leveraging our IoT IP, semiconductor, and welding technologies to develop synergies and further develop the Smart Factory.

Our business is based on creating long-term trusting relationships with customers. Using our award-winning hardware and software, process connectivity, and System　Integration/Operations & Maintenance, we aim to provide value to customer challenges by offering services for customers to evolve their manufacturing process with innovative total solutions.

SMT (Surface Mounting Technology) Solution
With electric component mounting machines and devices, semiconductors, display manufacturing equipment and so on, we are expanding our business even further by offering the equipment that customers demand.

The electronics industry is in a period of major transformation and companies are expected to deliver diverse products in a timely manner. The manufacturing department requires improvements not only in the automation of work but also in productivity and quality across the entire production process and the factory as a whole.

The key to solving this is our Smart Factory Solutions, the integrated line management system, “iLNB”. The iLNB works with partner businesses and connects various equipment together over the network to enable real-time management of the entire factory floor.

Welding System solution (Laser Processing Robot Integrated System)
Traditionally, metal parts such as auto body panels were welded by resistance welding, which uses electrical resistance, or arc welding, which uses the discharge phenomena in the air.
But Panasonic has brought to life a more complicated, accurate welding solution called “LAPRISS”
LAPRISS combines various elements necessary for laser processing such as Panasonic’s robotic technology, welding head, and resonator equipped with state-of-the-art wavelength beam combining technology. It is the world’s first remote laser welding robot system armed with a 4kW Direct Diode Laser.
